John Henry Stoner
Son of John Stoner and Elisabeth _____

b. 1 Nov 1832 Lower Paxtang Twp., Dauphin Co., PA

John Henry Stoner was born in Lower Paxtang Township, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania November 01, 1832 and baptized in the Shoops London Lutheran Church, a German reformed church at the time1. He is shown with his father's family in 1850 in the Dauphin County, PA census by name at the age of 18. In 1854, his mother, father, and three sisters moved to Richland County, Ohio and settled in Franklin Township2. John Henry is next found mentioned in his father's Will only to the extent that his residence is unknown, he is assumed to be dead, had not been heard from for 20 years3.

Some postulations we have as to where John Henry Stoner went:

We know his younger brother, Obediah Stoner stayed in Pennsylvania, married and had a family from Obediah's records.

Based on the fact that his father, John Stoner, mentions him in his will in 1887 (where other family members are not mentioned), we tend to think he was alive when the family moved to Ohio.

- John Henry may have stayed in Pennsylvania and started a family of his own.
- He may have faught in the Civil War for Pennsylvania (maybe even died).
- He may have moved from Pennsylvania and gone west like so many familes did at the time.
