perhaps as early a 1712. His name appears on the 1721 and 1722 tax lists,
and he parented 110 acres in West lampeter in 1734. He owned other tracts
in Lancaster and York counties PA., as well as a tract in Maryland. He operated
an early mill in Lancaster Co. along the Pequea Creek. In 1729 he obtained
British citizenship. His children are well identified in his estate records.
Present day Stoners in the Ephrata, PA area are, for the most part his descendants.

After his father’s death he became active
in the Moravian church and removed all of his siblings, including his half-sister
Barbara, except John, to the Moravain settlements in Northampton Co., PA.
He was cited for contempt of court for refusing to return his youngest siblings
to their quardians, Ulrich Leip and Peter Yortee. On Sept. 6, 1748, the
court ordered him to the County Goal [jail] till he comply with the same.
