The parents reside in Nappanee , but were on a visit with their uncle L. Dodge, where the child took sick and died. She was buried on Sunday at Shaum's burying-ground, where services were held by J.F. Funk from 1 Cor. 15:21,22. Herald of Truth
Volume XXII, Number 9 - May 1, 1885, Page 140, 141.
STONER - On the 16th of April, in Nappanee, Elkhart Co., Ind., of teething and malaria, Gale, son of Ezri and Alice Stoner, aged 10 months and 28 days. Buried at Shaum's burying-ground on the 19th, wh ere services were conducted by John F. Funk from Matt. 6:10, "Thy will be done." The father was away in another state on business, and the mother on account of indisposition, was compelled to stop a t the house of a friend before reaching the place of burial, but kindly hands performed these last sad duties, in the presence of a goodly number of sympathizing friends who followed the little one t o his last resting place. Though the sorrowing parents could not follow their dear boy to the grave we trust they may so consecrate themselves to God that they may follow him into the blessed home, wh ere there is rest forever.
